Louis Oosthuizen surprisingly withdrew from the PGA Championship just minutes before his scheduled tee time on Thursday.
No reason was immediately given for Oosthuizen’s withdrawal, but his exit cleared a path for a new player to enter the field — Kelly Kraft.

Oosthuizen, 35, finished second at the PGA Championship last year. He won the 2010 Open Championship and has finished second in all three other majors. This is the first time he’s withdrawn from a major since 2013.
As of Wednesday, Oosthuizen seemed to be positive about playing at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.
