Nick Faldo throws shade at Greg Norman over Masters meltdown
Patrick Reed was three shots ahead of Rory McIlroy and a five ahead of Rickie Fowler heading into the final round of the Masters, but history will tell you that no lead is safe on Sunday ay Augusta National. And, of course, Nick Faldo has no problem reminding viewers of this.
Faldo won the final of his six major championships at the Masters in 1996, and an infamous meltdown from Greg Norman made it possible. The Australian had a six-shot lead heading into Sunday, and he shot a 78. He never ended up winning a green jacket. While wrapping up Saturday’s action for CBS, Faldo took a cruel shot at Norman.

Faldo hugged Norman after the 1996 Masters and has since spoken about how badly he felt over the way he won his third green jacket. However, this also isn’t the first time he has taken a shot at Norman over the collapse, though most would argue Norman deserved it last year after he criticized golf broadcasters for being too boring.
Reed’s nerves will certainly be tested in the final round at Augusta, and one player who knows plenty about letting the pressure get the best of him has already weighed in on that. Sometimes it’s easier to play from a few shots back than to protect a lead in such an important tournament.
