Is anyone picking up on a technology trend here? Last month we introduced you to the Jeter Filter, a genius invention that allows you to filter everything and anything related to Derek Jeter out of your daily internet activities. Now, enter Matt Richardson. Richardson recently launched the Enough Already project, a technological tool that allows us to do to our television broadcasts what the Jeter Filter can do to our internet searches.
If this concept sounds familiar to you, that’s probably because our man LB already thought of it three years ago and it’s just now coming to fruition. Enough Already gives users the ability to have their television set automatically mute itself when a certain keyword or name is mentioned. For example, those of us who are tired of hearing about Brett Favre could program Enough Already to cut our TV’s sound off as soon as his name is mentioned. Here is a video explaining in detail how it works:
There are certainly some kinks to work out with this invention, but we’re on the right track. Unlike the idea we had here at LBS to mute individual broadcasters, Enough Already mutes your entire television set. If we were interested in only hearing one member of a broadcast team and muting the other, Enough Already could not help. That being said, the fact that the Jeter Filter and Enough Already were introduced within a month of each other is no coincidence. Keep going, keep going!
