Chris Broussard appears to have backtracked on his report about Mark Cuban that caused so much uproar.

The ESPN reporter sent a statement on Twitter Friday to apologize for not reaching out to the Mavericks owner prior to sending his controversial tweet Tuesday night.

“Regarding my Wednesday report: I should have attempted to contact Mark Cuban before reporting what my sources were telling me. I always try to carry myself with honesty and integrity both personally and professionally. I recognize that I tweeted hastily, I’m sorry for it, and I will learn from my mistake.”

Broussard reported that Cuban was driving around downtown Houston and texting members of DeAndre Jordan’s family in hopes of getting his address. Cuban responded angrily to the report, and then Broussard fired back by saying he stood by his sources.

Ultimately Cuban challenged Broussard and said he would donate $100,000 if the reporter could produce evidence of his sources. Broussard’s last move was to apologize.

Between this and the Twitter argument with Bomani Jones, it’s been a bad week for Broussard.
