Rory MacDonald sets record straight on his injuries following Bellator 192

Rory MacDonald

Rory MacDonald on Wednesday set the record straight regarding his injury situation following his tough win over Douglas Lima at Bellator 192.

Multiple outlets on Tuesday published the medical suspensions from the California State Athletic Commission for all the fighters who participated in the Bellator 192 fight card at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. MacDonald received a 45-day no contest and 30-day mandatory no contact suspension. He also was facing a potential 180-day suspension because they felt he might have a hand or leg fracture. He needs a doctor’s clearance in order to return sooner.

With word floating that he could be out 180 days due to a broken hand and leg, MacDonald (20-4) tweeted the following:

MacDonald’s leg was so bad that he went to the hospital after his fight to be treated. Given the information he shared, MacDonald should be able to receive clearance from a doctor to avoid the full potential suspension.

The 28-year-old Canadian became the new Bellator Welterweight Champion with his unanimous decision win over Douglas Lima.
