Poland to give out 150,000 condoms during Euro 2012

Polish health officials must be counting on a lot of horny soccer fans having a lot of anonymous sex in the country during next month’s Euro 2012 soccer tournament.

Poland, co-host of the tournament along with Ukraine, on Tuesday announced its “Fair Play” campaign, which advocates safe sex in the country’s four Euro 2012 cities.

According to Deputy Health Minister Aleksander Soplinski, around 150,000 condoms will be distributed in designated areas to fans attending matches. The condoms are part of a kit that also includes leaflets — written in six languages — that explain the dangers of unprotected sex, including AIDS and other STD’s.

I guess Wayne Rooney’s hair plugs are more sexually energizing for fans than I anticipated. But, of course, an uptick in banging is hardly anything unusual for international sporting competitions.

The free jimmy hats should come in handy for any lucky lady finding herself invited to the hotel room of Ashley Cole. Or John Terry. Or Rooney. Or Franck Ribery. Or Cristiano Ronaldo. OK, yeah, maybe the players should be the ones getting these safe-sex kits.

Anyway, have fun, Euro 2012 fans. Enjoy the soccer, too.
