Wimbledon Men’s finals tickets going for at least $4,500

Tickets to the Wimbledon Men’s final have become an even hotter commodity now that Andy Murray has advanced to his first final at the All England Club. Murray beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets on Friday to advance to Sunday’s final. The Scotsman has a chance to become the first U.K. player to win Wimbledon since 1938, and fans are dying to be there to see it happen.

At last check, there were only a handful of tickets available for the match on StubHub (UK). The prices varied from £3,000 to £5,900 which equates to $4,500-$9126.

That amount will likely rise as we get closer to the final. Unfortunately for all of the Murray supporters, they will probably be let down considering Roger Federer is playing great and coming off a win over Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.

Federer has a lot at stake, too. If he wins, he’ll become the No. 1 player in the world and tie Pete Sampras’ record of 286 weeks ranked as the world’s top player. He’s attempting to win his seventh Wimbledon title.

What remains to be seen is if Murray can have his LeBron-like breakthrough. It will be fun to find out, and a lot of folks are willing to pay big money to witness it in person.
