Report: Padres aggressively trying to move Yangervis Solarte

The San Diego Padres apparently can’t stop selling.

According to a report by Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports on Sunday, the Padres are aggressively trying to trade infielder Yangervis Solarte.

Solarte, 29, batted .286/.341/.467 with 15 home runs and 71 RBIs in 109 appearances last season. He is projected to earn $2.7 million as he enters his first year of arbitration, per MLBTradeRumors.com.

The Padres already dealt former All-Star catcher Derek Norris to the Washington Nationals in recent days in addition to non-tendering ace righty Tyson Ross. The team appears to be committed to at least one franchise cornerstone, but it doesn’t look like anybody else on the roster is safe from their spirited efforts to slash payroll this offseason.
