Danny Green sets NBA Finals record for 3-pointers made

Danny Green continues to be the MVP for the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Finals. The fourth-year shooting guard from North Carolina was on fire yet again, as he shot 6-for-10 on 3-pointers in the Spurs’ 114-104 win over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the Finals on Sunday.

Danny GreenGreen had 24 points in the game and is now the NBA Finals record holder for most 3-pointers made in a series. He is 25-for-38 (65.8 percent) on threes, and he surpassed Ray Allen’s record of 22 3-pointers made in the Finals.

Prior to the series, Green was part of the “field” when it came to odds for NBA Finals MVP. Through five games, he is without a doubt the Finals MVP.

Just like Game 3 where he and Gary Neal went crazy, Green was bombing threes from all over the court and saw them go in. Take a look at this shot he made from way downtown with two Heat players coming at him:

“Getting lucky,” Green said of his success in the Finals during a postgame interview with NBA TV. “Guys are finding me and everything is going the right way right now.

“I gotta give a lot of credit to Tony and Manu. They do a great job penetrating and pitching and getting me open.”
