Isaiah Thomas to undergo arthroscopic hip surgery
Isaiah Thomas has been away from the Los Angeles Lakers so he could evaluate options with his troublesome hip, and the star point guard has opted to have a surgical procedure.
The Lakers announced on Wednesday that Thomas will undergo arthroscopic surgery.

The doctor who will be performing the procedure described it as “minimally invasive,” though no timeline for Thomas’ recovery has been given yet.
In a statement received by ESPN on Isaiah Thomas, Dr. Bryan Kelly of the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC says: "We will be doing a minimally invasive procedure to "clean up" the joint of all inflammatory debris related to his injury from last season."

Thomas has been dealing with the hip injury since last season, and he admitted earlier this year that it is still giving him trouble. With just nine games left in the regular season and the Lakers eliminated from playoff contention, we likely won’t see Thomas again this year. The 29-year-old has averaged 15.2 points and 4.8 assists per game this season in his time with the Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
