Reddit user broke Derrick Rose injury news

Derrick-Rose

As you have likely heard, Derrick Rose has once again suffered a serious knee injury and could be out for the remainder of the season. If you are a faithful follower of Reddit’s NBA page, you would have gotten the news before anyone else.

A Reddit user who says he is friends with Chicago Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson’s son wrote on the social media site Tuesday night that he had heard Rose will miss around six weeks.

“I just got word from my friend (John Paxson’s son) that Derrick Rose has a tear in his meniscus,” KevinAndrewsPhoto wrote. “And will miss around 6 weeks.”

Naturally, the dude was immediately blasted by a bunch of Reddit users who said he was throwing mud against the wall and should be banned if the information is inaccurate. It wasn’t, as the team later announced that Rose has once again torn the meniscus in his right knee.

Does this mean random people on Twitter and Reddit are now reliable sources of information? Of course not, but it just goes to show you that ESPN writers aren’t the only people on the planet who are connected.
