Bob Myers lands a big role with 1 new NBA team
Bob Myers is back working in an NBA front office (sort of).
The former NBA Executive of the Year Myers has landed a major role with the Philadelphia 76ers, Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Tuesday. Myers will be tasked with leading the 76ers’ search for a new head of basketball operations and will be overseeing the franchise’s basketball department himself in the meantime.
This news comes with the 76ers having just decided to fire president of basketball operations Daryl Morey after six seasons in charge. Head coach Nick Nurse will reportedly remain in his role though, so the team will only have one big position to fill.
Myers, 51, served as general manager of the Golden State Warriors from 2012-23. He enjoyed an extremely successful run in the Bay Area that included four NBA championships, six total Finals appearances, and two Executive of the Year Awards in 2015 and 2017.
After formally stepping down from his position with the Warriors in 2023, Myers went into television analyst work for ESPN. Myers then went on to become the president of sports and venue management company Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HSBE).
In recent months, we had heard Myers’ name mentioned in connection with a prominent Western Conference team. But with HSBE serving as the managing entity of the 76ers (with namesakes Josh Harris and David Blitzer serving as the co-owners of the team), Myers is a easy and natural fit to lead basketball operations for the franchise in the interim here.
76ers make major decisions on Daryl Morey, Nick Nurse
The Philadelphia 76ers are shaking up the snow globe … but not quite entirely.
Philadelphia has decided to fire president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Tuesday. Charania does add though that the 76ers will be keeping head coach Nick Nurse in his position.
The move comes as the 76ers went a respectable 45-37 this season and even upset the Boston Celtics in the first round by rallying from a 3-1 deficit to win the series. But Philadelphia was then swept in the second round by the New York Knicks, continuing their streak of not making it to the Eastern Conference Finals for 25 years now.
Morey, the 53-year-old former Executive of the Year, had been in charge of the 76ers since 2020. But his reputation in Philly had taken a downward slide over the last couple of seasons thanks to some questionable moves (including giving out a max contract to Paul George and trading away Jared McCain for draft capital only). A recent report even claimed that the 76ers’ trust in Morey had completely crumbled.
As for Nurse, 58, he has been the head coach of the team since 2023. While Nurse, a former NBA champion coach, has gone only 116-130 (.472) in Philly and had his playoff strategy questioned this season, he has seemingly done just enough with a mismatched roster to be able to hold onto his job.
The 76ers will now be entering an uncertain offseason with a need to find a new head of basketball operations. But with franchise player Joel Embiid recently revealed to have been unhappy with the moves that the front office was making, firing Morey and keeping Nurse appears to be the team’s best course forward.
AJ Dybantsa reveals why he should be No. 1 overall pick
The NBA Draft lottery ping-pong balls bounced in favor of the Washington Wizards, who landed the top pick in June.
That means the Wizards will likely decide between Kansas Jayhawks star Darryn Peterson and BYU Cougars sensation AJ Dybantsa.
During the NBA Scouting Combine, Dybantsa was asked why he should be the No. 1 pick, and he had a straightforward answer.
“I play the game the right way, I’m exciting and I fill seats,” Dybantsa said.

AURAAAAA THIS IS A WIZARD 🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/w1ucCg8oW1
Dybantsa unsurprisingly declared for the NBA Draft after just one season at BYU, where he put up 25.5 points with 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. His time at BYU ended with a 79-71 loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Round of 64, but Dybantsa had 35 points with 10 rebounds while playing every single minute.
Dybantsa made waves during the NBA Draft lottery for his reaction after the Wizards landed the top pick, especially with fans suggesting he wants to stay in Utah and play for the Jazz, who hold the No. 2 pick.
The Wizards acquired Trae Young and Anthony Davis in separate trades this past deadline, so adding Dybantsa could be a perfect move for a team hoping to turn things around in 2026-27.
In the meantime, Wizards president Michael Winger suggested they could consider trading down, though a lot will be said until the draft begins.
The 2026 NBA Draft will begin on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
NBA makes final decision on Bucks amid Giannis Antetokounmpo investigation
The NBA has reached a decision on the investigation regarding the Milwaukee Bucks’ handling of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the NBA has concluded that “no further action is warranted” due to the NBA’s Player Participation Policy.
The NBA concluded its investigation into the Milwaukee Bucks over the shutdown and health of Giannis Antetokounmpo late in the season and has determined that no further action is warranted, sources tell ESPN https://t.co/fKLYFv1v51
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) May 12, 2026
In April, the NBA announced it was conducting an investigation after “inconsistent statements” from the Bucks regarding the status of Antetokounmpo.
That came after a series of events, including reports stating that Antetokounmpo refused to play in scrimmages as he worked his way back from a knee injury, as he was diagnosed with left knee hyperextension and a bone bruise. However, the Bucks superstar refuted such reports and admitted he was hurt by having to sit out with the injury.
And, right before the end of the regular season, another report stated that Antetokounmpo wanted to play, especially with his brothers on the team and his future with Milwaukee uncertain.
In the end of it all, Giannis Antetokounmpo was not able to play since March 15, and now with the offseason here, questions remain about whether or not the Bucks will trade him this summer.
13-year NBA veteran Jason Collins dies at 47
Jason Collins, who spent 13 years in the NBA, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 47.
Collins suffered from Stage 4 glioblastoma, and the family sent out a statement, saying they are “heartbroken.”

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also released a statement and sent his condolences to the Collins family and mentioning that Collins’ “impact and influence extended far beyond basketball.”

Collins spoke about his battle with brain cancer in December of 2025, saying it was a “very aggressive” form and adding that the tumor came on “incredibly fast.”
In 2013, Collins made history when he became the first active, openly gay player in the four professional sports leagues.
Collins was the No. 18 overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2001 NBA Draft, and he played college basketball at Stanford.
Collins played the first six seasons of his career with the New Jersey Nets before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2007-08 season.
Collins also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks (3 seasons), Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards before finishing his career with the Nets in 2013-14.
The news of Collins’ passing comes on the same day that Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke died at the age of 29.
Stephen A. Smith predicts iconic franchise as top LeBron James destination
The big question of the NBA offseason will be regarding the future of LeBron James.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff run came to an end, and now it remains to be seen if James retires or plays one more season. If he does play, it might not be in LA, and teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors have been linked as potential options.
However, Stephen A. Smith revealed his top five options for James next season, and he had the New York Knicks at No. 1.
.@stephenasmith gives the TOP FIVE landing spots for LeBron next season 👀⬇️ pic.twitter.com/crORQCSq9s
— First Take (@FirstTake) May 12, 2026
As Smith said in the video, the Knicks would be a smart business move for James, although it remains to be seen if the legend is interested in finishing out his NBA career at Madison Square Garden.
Smith, meanwhile, is well-known for being a Knicks fan, although he caught some heat lately for missing a playoff game to attend another event.
Nick Wright also made a case for LeBron James to go to the Knicks to finish out his career, so it’s quite the discussion.
.@getnickwright breaks down the four best options for LeBron’s 'choose your own adventure' future:

“I want him to be the final piece for the Knicks… I think that's the most exciting and interesting of the chapters along with the team with the best chance to win a championship.” pic.twitter.com/OxsQQ5BiRP
As for James’ future in LA, the Lakers appear set to build around Luka Doncic, although a return to LA could still be a possibility for the future Hall of Famer.
Following the Lakers’ Game 4 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, James said he doesn’t know what the future holds, and he will take time to make the decision on whether or not he will retire.
If James doesn’t retire, he is an unrestricted free agent, so he will be able to join any team he wants this summer.
87-year-old Tom Moore has landed a new coaching job
Tom Moore, who is 87 years old, has landed another job in football.
Moore has been hired by the Iowa Hawkeyes as a senior consultant to the head coach and offensive advisor, according to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic.
Iowa is hiring longtime NFL offensive coordinator Tom Moore (Peyton Manning's OC with the Indianapolis Colts) as senior consultant to the head coach and offensive advisor. Moore, who is 87, played QB at Iowa in the late 1950s.
— Scott Dochterman (@ScottDochterman) May 12, 2026
Moore played college football at Iowa from 1958 to 1960, and he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant with the Hawkeyes in 1961.
Moore has coached plenty of legends during his time in college and the NFL, including wide receivers John Stallworth and Lynn Swann and quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
Here is a list of Moore’s coaching career:
- 1965-1968: Dayton (RBs coach)
- 1969: Wake Forest (offensive coordinator)
- 1970-1971: Georgia Tech (RBs coach)
- 1972-1973: Minnesota (RBs coach)
- 1974: New York Stars (World Football League) (OC)
- 1975-1976: Minnesota (OC)
- 1977-1989: Pittsburgh Steelers (WRs coach, OC)
- 1990-1993: Minnesota Vikings (assistant head coach)
- 1994-1996: Detroit Lions (OC)
- 1997: New Orleans Saints (RBs coach)
- 1998-2010: Indianapolis Colts (OC, senior OC, senior assistant)
- 2011: New York Jets (offensive consultant)
- 2012: Tennessee Titans (offensive consultant)
- 2013-2017: Arizona Cardinals (assistant HC and offensive consultant)
- 2019-2025: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (offensive consultant)
This is Moore’s first job in college since 1976, when he was with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and he now returns to his alma mater in a neat full-circle moment for the legendary coach.
Moore also has four Super Bowl titles to his name.
It’s been quite the career for Tom Moore, and he will turn 88 years old in November.
Steve Sarkisian goes off on SEC rival
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian took an unprompted shot at one of his SEC rivals in an interview on Tuesday.
Sarkisian was bragging about the high academic standards at Texas, and seized upon the opportunity to contrast them with what he thinks of Ole Miss’ standards. The Texas coach said, in contrast to his school, that taking “basket weaving” is sufficient to earn a degree from Ole Miss.
“At Texas, we will only take 50% of a player’s academic credit hours,” Sarkisian told Matt Hayes of USA Today. “You may be a semester from graduating, but you’re going all the way back to 50% if you play here and want a degree. But at Ole Miss, they can take you. All you have to do is take basket weaving, and you can get an Ole Miss degree.
“It’s like we’ve forgotten about academics, yet less than 5% of these guys will play in the NFL.”
New Florida head coach Jon Sumrall got in on the action, joking that he was “grateful to coach at a top 10 public university that also offers advanced basket weaving!”
Grateful to coach at a top 10 public university that also offers advanced basket weaving! 🐊 https://t.co/eGhYWkETAx
— Jon Sumrall (@CoachJonSumrall) May 12, 2026
Ole Miss do not appear to be terribly popular among their peers. Another high-profile coach openly accused them of tampering in January. In 2024, they even had to issue a public statement after fans and rivals suggested their players were faking injuries during games. Even their former coach is taking shots at them, even if they weren’t meant to be.
Sarkisian has never been shy about sticking up for his program, even if that means being critical of other teams. He’s certainly ensuring that future matchups between the Longhorns and Rebels will be a bit spicy.
Possible cause of death for Brandon Clarke has been revealed
A new report has offered initial clues as to a possible cause of the sudden death of Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for a medical emergency at a home in California’s San Fernando Valley on Monday, and Clarke was dead when paramedics arrived, according to Dennis Broad of NBC4 Los Angeles. Clarke’s death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose, and drug paraphernalia was found in the home where he died.
A full autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of Clarke’s death.
Notably, Clarke had been arrested in Arkansas last month and charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. The 29-year-old was also accused of fleeing in a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and improper passing.
Clarke’s death was announced on Tuesday and confirmed by the Grizzlies. He was a former first-round pick by the Grizzlies in 2019 who is in his seventh career NBA season. He was an All-Rookie selection in 2020 and averaged five straight years of double-digit points per game to begin his pro basketball career. He was limited to just two games last season due to a persistent calf injury.

— NBA Communications (@NBAPR) May 12, 2026
No information was provided on the cause of Clarke’s death by either his agency or the Grizzlies.
Clarke played collegiately at San Jose State and Gonzaga before being drafted by the Grizzlies in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He developed into a key reserve for Memphis, where he spent his entire NBA career, and earned All-Rookie honors in 2020. In seven seasons, he averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Clarke was limited to just two games last season due to a right calf strain. He was in the headlines in early April when he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and fleeing in a vehicle exceeding the speed limit.
Lane Kiffin apologizes for his controversial comments about Ole Miss
Lane Kiffin tried to backtrack on some controversial comments he made about recruiting at Ole Miss.
In a recent Vanity Fair interview, Kiffin told reporter Chris Smith that he had struggled at times to recruit at Ole Miss because of the school’s association with Confederate symbolism. He even indicated it was one of the reasons he left for LSU, a school that does not carry the same sort of stigma.
“‘Hey, coach, we really like you. But my grandparents aren’t letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi,’ Kiffin relayed as a message he heard from some recruits. “That doesn’t come up when you say Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Parents were sitting here this weekend saying the campus’s diversity feels so great: ‘It feels like there’s no segregation. And we want that for our kid because that’s the real world.’”
Kiffin seemed aware the comment would provoke controversy, telling the magazine that it was simply a factual statement and that he hoped he came across as “respectful to Ole Miss.” That was not enough to head off the outcry, and he issued a fuller apology on Tuesday.
“I really apologize if anybody at Ole Miss or in Mississippi was offended by that,” Kiffin told Wilson Alexander of On3. “I was asked questions about the differences in recruiting, and I said a narrative that we battled there from some out-of-state Black parents and grandparents was not wanting their kid to move to Mississippi. That’s a narrative that coaches have been fighting forever. It wasn’t calculated by bringing it up.”
Lane Kiffin said this to @On3 regarding his comments to Vanity Fair about differences in recruiting at Ole Miss and LSU.https://t.co/eKntP9qedX https://t.co/INureqdi5S pic.twitter.com/eCNzTC3iqU
— Wilson Alexander (@whalexander_) May 12, 2026
Even if it wasn’t calculated, Kiffin does so many things that are that people won’t necessarily believe him. He claimed, for instance, that he wanted to coach the team through the end of last season but was blocked by Ole Miss, a narrative that his own players publicly challenged. Rebels fans will simply see this as Kiffin trying to get a subtle recruiting advantage over a conference foe.
Kiffin is building a loaded roster for 2026 at his new job. At a certain point, he probably isn’t concerned about how these comments went down in Oxford.
Lakers make it clear that they are not building around LeBron James
If there was any lingering doubt about whose team the Los Angeles Lakers are going forward, general manager Rob Pelinka made that very clear at his end-of-season news conference on Tuesday.
Pelinka did not hide the fact that the Lakers are committed to building around Luka Doncic as the team’s focal point going forward. Pelinka told reporters that the roster will be “retrofitted around Luka and the thing he needs,” and that Doncic will be consulted on roster moves.
Rob Pelinka said he will be in constant communication with Luka Doncic this offseason as they put the roster together. https://t.co/65Rg6YgLiA
— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) May 12, 2026
In other words, LeBron James will not be the Lakers’ focal point going forward. Pelinka made clear, however, that the organization would love to have James back next season, and will give him space to decide on his future.
Rob Pelinka on LeBron James: “We probably haven’t seen a player that has honored the game to the extent that he’s honored the game. He’s given so much to his teammates, to this organization. The thing we want to do more than anything else is honor him back. (That starts with)…
— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) May 12, 2026
This should not come as a surprise to James, though the reality here is pretty blunt. How he feels about it is another question entirely. There were reports last offseason that James felt slighted by the Lakers treating Doncic as the focal point of their team instead of him. Now the team is outright saying that is the case.
James left his future open to interpretation after the Lakers’ season-ending loss to Oklahoma City on Monday night. He could retire, but it is also possible that he comes back to play for a different team where he might be more of a focal point. That decision will be one to watch over the next several weeks.
Brandon Aiyuk puts concerns about his weight to rest
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s future remains murky, but anyone who was still worried about what kind of shape he was in should be reassured by his latest Instagram post.
Aiyuk prompted concern in April when he posted a set of photos on Instagram. Many felt that the photos, particularly the first one, made the wide receiver look like he was in poor shape and lacking in fitness.
Aiyuk seemingly put those concerns to rest on Tuesday. In a new set of photos, he looked as fit as ever while flashing money and luxury watches.
Brandon Aiyuk, widely expected to be cut by SF before Week 1, does not appear to be fat here. Does appear to be #HowRich. https://t.co/kp7yBSuRM9
— Adam Levitan (@adamlevitan) May 12, 2026
The content of Aiyuk’s post may give people some pause, but he is certainly in shape. That is despite him not having played since 2024, first because of a severe knee injury and later because the 49ers were simply fed up with him.
The Niners have made it clear that they plan to move on from Aiyuk, with the Washington Commanders frequently linked to him. So far, they have chosen not to release the wide receiver, as they are instead hoping a team will make a trade offer for him. So far, that offer has not materialized.
At the very least, this sort of post from Aiyuk is preferable to some of the other things he was posting late last year.
Breece Hall gets brutally honest about his Jets tenure so far
The New York Jets confirmed Breece Hall’s contract extension on Tuesday, and the running back made a pretty honest appraisal of his Jets career so far.
Hall predicted that 2026 will be his best season as long as he stays healthy. In making that prediction, however, he added that the Jets have not always put him in the best situation to succeed before.
“I feel like I’m the only running back that’s consistently a top-10 back in the league that hasn’t in the past been always in the most ideal situation,” Hall told reporters.
Jets RB Breece Hall: "I feel like I'm the only running back that's consistently a top-10 back in the league that hasn't in the past been always in the most ideal situation.
— Jeremy Bergman (@JABergman) May 12, 2026
"God-willing, we stay healthy and everything goes as planned, I feel like this could be my best season."
Whether this is true or not depends somewhat on who Hall or anyone else would consider to be a top-10 back. It is indisputable, however, that the Jets have not always put him in the most ideal situation. The team has been short on talent, particularly on offense, for much of his career. That’s probably why there have been times he has seemed eager for a trade.
Hall had his first 1,000-yard season last year, putting up 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The team rewarded him with a new contract last week, and Hall is convinced that the Jets are on the right track now. Whether that is actually the case remains to be seen.
Dillon Brooks had surprising comment about LeBron James
Dillon Brooks may be LeBron James’ chief hater, but even he has some respect for what the Los Angeles Lakers star has accomplished.
Brooks was in attendance at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. on Monday to watch James and the Lakers be eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in a four-game sweep. Despite his well-known antipathy toward James, Brooks was highly complimentary of the Lakers star and predicted that James will play one more season.
“I don’t think it’s his last year,” Brooks told Kelly Iko of Yahoo Sports. “I think he got one more in him. I watched him when I was in the NBA, when I was a kid in high school. He’s got a phenomenal career and battled everybody and done it at a high level throughout. It’s been amazing to watch overall, a pleasure to battle against him.”
That is a far cry from Brooks’ previous comments in which he has dismissed James as old and overrated. Obviously, things are a bit different when the two are not directly competing against each other. After all, Brooks’ Suns got swept by that same Thunder team, so in this situation, he cannot really talk.
Then again, Brooks showed up to the game and sat in the perfect position to troll James. That, in itself, is its own form of disrespect, regardless of what he actually says.
Mavericks GM sends a strong message on Cooper Flagg-Kyrie Irving combo
The Dallas Mavericks have a lot to look forward to even after a disappointing 2025-26 season.
The Mavs struggled in their first full season since the stunning Luka Doncic trade, winning just 26 games. Dallas also played the entire campaign without star point guard Kyrie Irving, who suffered an ACL injury late in the 2024-25 season.
A bright side for the team, however, was Cooper Flagg, who flashed a ton of promise in his first year in the league.
Come the 2026-27 season, the Mavericks are expected to have the duo of Flagg and Irving on the court, and it’s already got Dallas assistant general manager Mike Schmitz feeling excited.
“Beautiful. You heard Masai [Ujiri] in his opening presser right, like that’s something you dream of,” Schmitz said during Sunday’s NBA Draft lottery, via Noah Weber of The Smoking Cuban.
“Having a magician with the ball like that who can pass, dribble, shoot, and someone with the connective qualities of Coop, that’s a match made in heaven.”
In addition, the Mavs also have the No. 9 pick at the 2026 NBA Draft, giving them the opportunity to add a promising building block for their future.
Irving may not be part of Dallas’ long-term plan, but the 34-year-old star, who has one more guaranteed season on his current contract before a player option for the 2027–28 season, should be an integral part of Dallas’ roster once he’s cleared to play.
Flagg, on the other hand, is coming off a sensational season that saw him win the 2025-26 NBA Rookie of the Year award.
Bills rookie credits a different sport for success
Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Skyler Bell apparently can get things done both on the ice and on the gridiron.
Bell, who was a fourth-round pick by the Bills in the 2026 NFL Draft, said that hockey was the sport he first gravitated to, an unusual path considering that he’s from the Bronx.
A fan of Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, Bell said that playing hockey helped him develop the skills he’s used to excel in football.
“A lot of things: balance, strength, stability, just being able to move your body in certain ways because when you’re on the ice, you’re not grounded and moving weight faster,” Bell explained, via Tim Graham of The Athletic.
“Just being able to move your body and lean and do certain things helps me when I’m running routes or have the ball in my hands. Being able to bounce off hits, contact balance and being able to stay up, I think all of that comes into play.”
Bell also has a timely arrival in Buffalo for his hockey fandom, as the Buffalo Sabres are appearing in their first Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2011. The Sabres are currently playing the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the NHL playoffs, and while he’s originally a Caps fan, Bell is learning to love the Sabres.
“NHL playoffs is exciting, man. Go Sabres!” Bell shared. “I’m up here now, you know? I might as well join the culture a little bit. They rolling, too, so I’m excited.”
NBA prospect had a head-turning height admission
One of the most interesting 2026 NBA Draft prospects may still be growing taller.
After playing his freshman season with the Tennessee Volunteers, Nick Ament is taking aim at becoming a high NBA draft pick. Many expect the 6-foot-9 Ament to be selected in the top 10, and he may also have boosted his stock by revealing what doctors told him about his height.
According to Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Ament could potentially grow taller by a couple of more inches.
“Baby faced NBA prospect Nate Ament measured at 6-foot-9 1/2 without shoes today and tells @andscape he was told by a doctor after X-rays that he has more room in his growth plate and could possibly get taller by another two inches,” Spears shared via X.
Ament is far from a finished basketball product. Just 19 years old, Ament had a productive 2025-26 season with the Rick Barnes-coached Vols, averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 35 games.
He shot just 39.9% from the field with a 45.2% effective field goal rate, but with his physical traits and profile as a mobile big man who can handle the rock and get buckets from anywhere on the court, Ament projects as a tantalizing prospect with potential to blossom into an NBA star.
Giants break out a bizarre three-man celebration
Beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in a series opener on Monday had the San Francisco Giants behaving wildly.
After the final out of the Giants’ 9-3 win over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, NBC’s broadcast showed San Francisco’s outfield trio of Harrison Bader, Drew Gilbert, and Jung Hoo Lee celebrating in a way not many people expected.
As the Giants celebrated the win, Bader, Gilbert, and Lee got together and bumped hips with each other, with Gilbert seemingly doing it a little bit too much.
Here’s the video of their celebration.
😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/wsIHUdvLGC
— SF Giants on NBCS (@NBCSGiants) May 12, 2026
It’s all harmless fun for the Giants, who stunned the reigning World Series champions. San Francisco leaned on its offense, which picked on the Dodgers’ shaky bullpen. The Giants scored three runs in the seventh inning and three more in the ninth frame.
Rafael Devers went 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBIs and 2 walks, while Willy Adames hit 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs.
Winners in their last two outings, the Giants will look to sustain their form in the second leg of their four-game series against Los Angeles on Tuesday, when they give the ball to Adrian Houser, as the Dodgers send Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound.
LeBron James had a loaded quote after losing to the Thunder
Have we seen the last of LeBron James as an NBA player?
The superstar forward did not say much about what his future plans are following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 115-110 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of a second-round series at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif.
Although he never said anything final with regard to his playing career, the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player did not close the door on a potential retirement.
“I think you guys asked me about [retirement], and I’ve answered questions, the 41-year-old James told reporters, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“I don’t think I’ve come out and been like, ‘Oh, retirement is coming,’” James said. “With my future, I don’t know, honestly. It’s, obviously it’s still fresh from, obviously losing [the series]. And I don’t know. I don’t know what the future holds for me.”
James is due to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer, as his current contract will expire in the offseason. It remains to be seen whether he’ll continue playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, take his talents elsewhere, or call it a career.
James has won nearly everything there is to be won in the league. But he’s also far from a washed veteran, which one can easily tell from his numbers alone in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
James even arguably had a better performance in the Thunder series than reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In four games, James averaged 23.3 points on 50% shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists, while SGA had 24.5 points on 47.1% shooting, 6.3 dimes and 2.3 boards.
