DeShaun Watson had four touchdowns against South Carolina on torn ACL
Clemson freshman DeShaun Watson led his team to a 35-17 victory over rival South Carolina in a performance that left head coach Dabo Swinney heaping praise on him after the game.
Watson etched a place for himself in Clemson lore by being the first Tigers quarterback to beat the Gamecocks since 2008. And he did so by playing on an ACL that was partially torn during practice last week.
Dabo: Deshaun Watson played today w/ partially torn ACL. Will play in the bowl game, then have surgery, rehab, miss spring, back in summer.

Clemson's Dabo Swinney describes freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson: “He is a mental and genetic freak. I don’t know how else to say it.”

Against South Carolina, Watson completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two more scores while wearing a brace that essentially acted as his ACL during the game.
Not a bad way to endear yourself to the fan base, I’d say.
