Bicycle Michael Bennett rode on field after NFC title game sold for $10,000

michael-bennett-bike-rideAfter a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the NFC championship game, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett got his hands on a police bicycle and took it on a victory lap around CenturyLink Field.

Over the weekend, the bike was sold at an auction. The winning bidder paid $10,000 for the now-famous mode of transportation.

Seattle Police Department received half of the proceeds, which will be used in their fight against domestic violence and child exploitation. The other half went to Bennett, who will put the money to good use through his charity work to help prevent child obesity.

The Seattle PD had fun with the moment, posting on their Twitter account they wanted to have the bike back by the Super Bowl. Thankfully, for those who will benefit from the funds raised through its sale, the bike was returned to its rightful owners.
