Report: Carson Wentz ‘well ahead’ of Jared Goff in grasping offense
If you thought Jared Goff may end up being the most pro-ready quarterback coming out of the NFL Draft, you may be wrong.
According to Conor Myles of EaglesWire, while neither are ready to start, Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz is reportedly ahead of Los Angeles’s Jared Goff in terms of readiness and grasping the pro system.
“Wentz is well ahead of Goff in terms of grasping an NFL system, but neither quarterback is ready to start day one,” the source told Myles.
In fact, it sounds like Denver’s Paxton Lynch is ahead of both top picks.
From personal observation, & talking to others Paxton Lynch is the closest to "starter" ready, followed by Wentz, Goff a distant third.

No wonder Jeff Fisher sounds so certain which direction his quarterback race is going. It’s unfair to second guess this early, but when two teams traded up so aggressively to get Goff and Wentz, people are going to ask questions if they’re slow to get ready.
