Chad Ochocinco officially changes name back to Chad Johnson

Chad Johnson is already starting to get a feel for what the married life is like. We refer to him as Chad Johnson because the artist formerly known as Chad Ochocinco officially changed his last name back to Johnson on Monday morning. The reason we say he is getting a feel for the married life is because he married Evelyn Lozada earlier this month. While Johnson first mentioned the idea of going back to his old last name last year, he didn’t start the actual process until he got engaged. I think it’s pretty obvious Evelyn laid down the law, don’t you?

Lozada must enjoy Chad’s childish antics, or she would never have agreed to marry him. He got away with proposing to her while playing a video game and live-tweeting his own wedding, but I highly doubt Lozada ever had the intention of becoming Evelyn Ochocinco. We’re just happy to hear she was more important to Chad than his immature last name.

As for whether or not the name change somehow implies Johnson is going back to his old ways, Dolphin fans can believe whatever they want. Realistically, they would probably be perfectly content with a receiver who finds a happy medium between his days of catching 90-plus passes with the Bengals and the 15 he caught last year in New England. Maybe going back to his real last name will help Chad actually learn a few plays in the Dolphins’ playbook.
