It was only a matter of time before Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate had his name dragged into Joseph Fauria’s bizarre accusation against Russell Wilson.
Late Sunday night, Fauria tweeted and then deleted something about Wilson stealing his girlfriend, WWE Diva Erika Hammond. The Lions tight end later apologized and said he let his emotions get the best of him before he had all the facts.
So how does Tate fit in? Last spring, a nasty rumor popped up claiming that Tate slept with Wilson’s ex-wife, Ashton Meem. The basis of the rumor was that the affair led to a rift in the Seattle Seahawks locker room, and some even said it was the reason Percy Harvin allegedly gave Tate a black eye.

Tate has shot down the rumor in the past, and his girlfriend recently threatened to take legal action against an internet troll who brought the Wilson-Tate-Meem thing up again.
All of that leads us to the following tweet from Tate, which he sent on Monday and later deleted. Busted Coverage was able to screenshot it first.

Tate did not, however, delete this tweet:
@TexasInfidel67 @DangeRussWilson nope and he knows it.

The first tweet probably wasn’t wise. What’s really hypocritical about all this is that Tate, who insists he was falsely accused of sleeping with Wilson’s ex-wife, immediately concluded that Wilson is “now doing what I was accused of.” Who says Wilson even did anything? If Tate was so frustrated that he was falsely accused before, he shouldn’t turn around and perpetuate rumors about Wilson.
One thing we should note is that Tate and Fauria are teammates. Did Tate talk to Fauria before sending his tweet about Wilson?
Drama, drama, drama.
