Jamaal Charles asked Peyton Manning for his autograph after loss (Video)
Talk about the ultimate sign of respect. Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles hung around outside Arrowhead Stadium last Sunday to meet Peyton Manning to ask for the quarterback’s autograph.
Charles was caught asking for the keepsake by KCTV and tried brushing it off by saying it was for his mother. Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was less bashful. He asked Manning for a picture following KC’s 17-9 loss and didn’t think much of it.
“It’s a legend, I guess. It’s Peyton Manning. Who wouldn’t want a picture with him? If you had an opportunity, would you take it?” he said.
The truth is this sort of thing goes on much more than most people realize. Some players trade jerseys with opposing players after games, and many more ask for autographs.
Just because they are professional athletes doesn’t mean they can’t also be fans, right? At least Charles and Bowe weren’t as obvious about it as Tashard Choice was with Mike Vick a few years ago.
