Has to be for his off-field accomplishments. A 2-8 team? What sort of value could he have had that year if the team only won 2 games?

Hornung’s Heisman must have been for shagging five girls per week. It certainly wasn’t for leading Notre Dame to a 2-8 season. He remains the only Heisman winner to play on a losing team.
