T.O. OD’ing on Pills Again? He No Longer has 25 Million Reasons to be Alive

Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens reportedly was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles last Thursday via ambulance. TMZ, which reported the news, adds that police responded to a call at an apartment where Owens was staying regarding a possible prescription pills overdose.

Owens has been released from the hospital, but this is interesting because it’s the second time he’s been connected to rumors of a possible pill overdose. You may recall that in 2006, there were rumors that he took 35 Vicodins in a suicide attempt.

T.O. brushed aside the rumors, as did his then-publicist, Kim Etheredge. She denied the rumor with one of the better quotes in sports history, declaring that “Terrell has 25 million reasons why he should be alive,” referring to his contract.

Now a free agent recovering from knee surgery, that is no longer the case. I wonder what her excuse would be this time.
