Even when he’s not playing Tony Romo manages to stay in the spotlight. The Cowboys quarterback, who has been out nearly two months with a broken collarbone, was finally placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Dallas was hoping Romo would be able to return before the season ended but his recovery was not going as well as hoped. The Cowboys will continue to roll with backup Jon Kitna who’s gone 4-4 in his eight starts.
Apparently the extra time off allowed Romo to get closer with girlfriend Candice Crawford and do some ring shopping. The 30-year-old quarterback proposed to Crawford on Saturday at her 24th birthday party, about a year after rumors suggested the two were already engaged. Clearly Romo feels he needed to lock a girl up before his career hit a downward slide.
Tony’s engagement completes the Jessica Simpson circle. Simpson’s engagement was announced shortly after ex-husband Nick Lachey got engaged, and now her ex-boyfriend Romo is doing the same. Clearly nobody wants to be left behind.
The question is how does Crawford compare to the other women to whom Romo’s been linked? We still think he should have gone in this direction.
