Tiger Woods announced on Friday what we all knew was coming: He will be playing the Masters this year.
Woods, who has taken two months off from the tour to work on his game, says he has been practicing and that he is ready to play in the first major of the season.
“I’m playing in the Masters,” Tiger said Friday afternoon. “It’s obviously very important to me, and I want to be there.
“I’ve worked a lot on my game and I’m looking forward to competing. I’m excited to get to Augusta and I appreciate everyone’s support.”
The speculation was buzzing this week that Tiger would play at Augusta after his private jet was spotted in the area this week. He supposedly has been practicing at Augusta National all week.
Tiger has not played at the Masters since 2013. He last won the tournament in 2005.
