Nashville’s Jordin Tootoo Can’t Fight Off Nosebleed During Interview (Video)

In the NHL, a high-sticking penalty will typically earn you two minutes in the box.  If the stick draws blood from your opponent’s face, the penalty is worth four minutes.  When Calgary defenseman Scott Hannan caught Nashville’s Jordin Tootoo in the face with a high stick on Tuesday night, he received no minutes in the penalty box.  Clearly the refs just didn’t see what happened, but can we go back and look at the tape on something like this?  If we could, Hannan would find himself in the box for four minutes at the start of the third period.  Check out this in-game interview with Tootoo where he tried to fight off a nosebleed for as long as he could but it got the best of him.

Taking a stick to the face is certainly better than a puck to the face like this incident or this incident from the past few weeks, but that looks pretty annoying.  Personally, I would have kept him engaged in the interview.  The nosebleed just makes it more badass.

Thanks to Puck Daddy for passing the video along.
