Novak Djokovic paid tribute to 9/11 by wearing an FDNY hat onto the court prior to his U.S. Open finals match against Rafael Nadal:

Whether he was trying to garner support from the New York crowd he has so frequently entertained by playing to them hardly matters; it was an awesome gesture by Djokovic who demonstrated keen awareness of his surroundings and the tragedy that was suffered.

    It was also an awesome performance once the match started.  He is having the best season ever in men’s tennis.
