Watch: Fire alarm goes off in stadium during Cardinals’ no-hitter
A fire alarm went off during a no-hit bid in Tuesday’s Cincinnati Reds-St. Louis Cardinals game, and some are assigning nefarious motives for it.
Before the bottom of the seventh inning of the game, a fire alarm went off at Great American Ballpark, causing a brief delay in the game.

Cardinals rookie Austin Gomber had a no-hitter going at the time the alarm went off. When play resumed, he got an out but then allowed a single and home run that tied the game.
It was the second day in a row that a Cardinals rookie carried a no-hitter deep into the game in his MLB debut. Last night it was Daniel Poncedeleon, and tonight it was Gomber. Only Gomber had the misfortune of having his rhythm disrupted by a fire alarm.
If a Reds fan was responsible for this, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise given their history towards the Cardinals.
