Kendrick Perkins had embarrassingly bad batting practice session at Fenway Park
Kendrick Perkins clearly chose the right sport to play.
The retired former Boston Celtics center Perkins, now an analyst for ESPN, is back in the area this week to cover the NBA Finals between the Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. On Tuesday, Perkins decided to pay a visit to Fenway Park. Ahead of a Boston Red Sox home game against the Atlanta Braves, Perkins was spotted taking batting practice on the field.
The result was highly embarrassing. MLB Network aired footage of Perkins’ struggle session. Out of six swings that were shown, he whiffed completely on three of them. He managed to hit a weak dribbler with another swing, barely fouled away a ball on another, and finally got somewhat decent contact to the pull side on his final swing before calling it quits.
Take a look at the video.

In fairness to Perkins, hitting a baseball is a difficult task for anybody. But when you are 6-foot-10, 270 pounds, and 39 years old, it gets even tougher.
Needless to say though, nobody is going to be mistaking Perkins for David Ortiz any time soon. He was already getting roasted enough lately for his basketball opinions and is now providing more fodder with his baseball skills (or lack thereof).
