Shohei Ohtani expected to make next start despite blister
Shohei Ohtani left his start on Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox after just two innings due to a blister, but the issue does not sound significant.
Ohtani gave up a home run to Mookie Betts to lead off the game and departed after allowing three runs over two innings. The Los Angeles Angels later said that Ohtani left his start early due to a blister.
After the game, Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he expected Ohtani to be able to make his next start and DH like usual despite the blister.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Shohei Ohtani had a blister in his right middle finger that "definitely affected his command." Scioscia expects him to make his next start on the mound and said it shouldn't affect his hitting.

Ohtani was able to throw hard, but he couldn’t command his splitter or slider. Scioscia says the blister could be attributed for those problems, which is a good sign about Ohtani’s future. If his blister heals, he should be back to usual form.
