Team USA faces Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic final on Tuesday, and they are trying to channel the energy of the national hockey team’s recent Olympic gold.
USA players arrived wearing Team USA hockey jerseys for the final at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Fla. Aaron Judge wore captain Auston Matthews’ jersey, while Bryce Harper arrived wearing Matthew Tkachuk’s assistant captain jersey.

The jerseys are actually game-worn and were the work of Pete Crow-Armstrong. The sweaters will eventually be auctioned off.
Game-used @usahockey jerseys for the whole squad?

The @FansAuthentic team made it happen. Keep an eye out for @usabaseball pulling up to the @wbcbaseball final in style, and don't miss the chance to bid on some of these 2x Team USA worn jerseys later this year at @fanaticsfest https://t.co/cvaDFXEZPq pic.twitter.com/EfBXTZSEF7
The American baseball players are trying to emulate the achievements of both the men’s and women’s hockey teams last month in Milan. They reached the final after overcoming the Dominican Republic, with some help from very questionable umpiring during the 9th inning.
A win Tuesday would give the Americans their second WBC title ever, having previously won in 2017. They will probably be hoping they don’t have to lose a couple of teeth like Hughes did in order to make it happen.
