Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been fined over an exchange he had with some Los Angeles Lakers fans on Saturday night.
Edwards helped lead the Timberwolves to a convincing 117-95 win over the Lakers in Game 1 of the opening-round playoff series between the two teams at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. He also engaged with a heckling fan late in the third quarter while Edwards was standing near the scorer’s table.
In a video that went viral on Monday, Edwards is seen defending teammate Rudy Gobert by telling a fan that Gobert has a $200 million contract. Edwards kept pointing at Gobert and repeating “he got $200 million,” and the fan fired back by asking the T-Wolves star “where your kids at?”
Edwards then grabbed his crotch area and shouted “my d–k bigger than yours!” two times.
On Tuesday, the NBA announced that Edwards has been fined $50,000 for “directing inappropriate language and making an obscene gesture toward a fan.”

Edwards has been accused of being a deadbeat dad by a woman, which is likely why the fan referenced the 23-year-old’s kids.
Edwards is a big-time trash talker. We saw that with the way he ruthlessly trolled Luka Doncic during Game 1. His $50,000 fine is a reminder that it is always better to just ignore unruly fans.
