Big Baby Davis had ridiculous reaction to his prison sentence

Glen Davis make a strange face

Former NBA champion Glen “Big Baby” Davis is going to prison, but he is trying his best to turn the situation into a positive.

Davis on Thursday was sentenced to 40 months in prison for his role in a massive fraud scheme. Davis was convicted in November 2023 for defrauding the NBA’s health care system. The former Boston Celtics big man was found guilty of health care fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to make false statements, and conspiracy to commit health care and wire fraud. More than 20 people have been convicted for their role in the scheme, which defrauded an insurance plan for NBA players of more than $5 million.

Shortly after a federal judge handed down the sentence, Davis went live on Instagram with a ridiculous reaction. The 38-year-old first mentioned how awkward it is going to be to service himself in prison. Davis then said he is going to be in great shape because sending him to jail is “the only way you can stop me from eating hamburgers.”

“Imma be swole, though. I swear to God I’m about to get in so much shape. On God. That’s the only way you can stop me from eating hamburgers is to put me in jail,” Davis said. “That’s what God said — I’m gonna stop you eating hamburgers and put you in jail. You wanna stop eating hamburgers and Cheetos? You’re going to jail.”

Beware that the video contains inappropriate language:

Positive vibes only for Big Baby

Davis also received three years of supervised release as part of the sentence, and he was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution.

Davis was a second-round pick in 2007 out of LSU. He is best known for his four years with the Boston Celtics, which included being a part of their championship-winning team as a rookie in 2008. His best statistical season came in 2012-2013 when he averaged 15.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Orlando Magic.
