Blake Griffin would have played in Game 1 if it were up to him

Blake Griffin did not play in Sunday’s Game 1 of the Detroit Pistons’ first round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a knee injury, and the Pistons paid the price.

Detroit lost 121-86 and never looked competitive in the game. Griffin had to watch as a spectator as his team was beat badly, and he didn’t like it.

After the defeat, Griffin said he would play if it were up to him.

“If it was my decision, I would’ve played” Griffin said, via ESPN’s Malika Andrews.

Griffin missed four of the Pistons’ final seven games in the regular season due to his knee injury. Griffin’s head coach said that the knee injury couldn’t get worse from playing, but that must not be the case. If it were, then Griffin would be out there playing.
