Cris Carter: Kawhi Leonard is ‘still undecided’
Former NFL player Cris Carter says that Kawhi Leonard is still undecided about his free agency choice, despite what others have reported.
On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Jalen Rose said he had heard that it was 99 percent that Leonard would return to Toronto on a two-year deal.
Carter, who is a personality for FS1, says Leonard is still undecided and that the Lakers, Clippers and Raptors are still in play.
A LOT of premature reports out there. Kawhi has NOT made his decision yet & all 3 teams are still in it. Yes, Lakers and Clippers are still in play and I’m certain of this.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on getting an answer any time soon. Kawhi still undecided. #Kawhiwatch— Cris Carter (@criscarter80) July 3, 2019
Leonard is believed to have already met with the Lakers and Clippers. He arrived in Toronto for a meeting with the Raptors on Wednesday.
The race for Leonard initially was believed to be between the Raptors and Clippers, but then several reports over the past few days have suggested the Lakers felt they were in the lead. At each step, Carter has said nobody is in the lead and preached patience as Kawhi goes through his free agency process.
For background, Leonard’s agent (at least as of 2018) was Mitch Frankel, who represented Carter during his playing days.
