DeMar DeRozan made it clear from the start that the only place he wanted to be was Toronto. He gets to stay in Toronto, now on a five-year, $139 million deal.

DeRozan and the Raptors agreed to the deal in the first hours of free agency, according to reports. The deal can be signed on July 7.

DeRozan was a first-round pick by the Raptors in 2009 and has played his entire career with the team. Last season was his best in terms of scoring as he averaged 23.5 points per game and shot the best percentages of his career from beyond the arc and at the line.

As DeRozan’s career has taken off, so too has the success of the Raptors. The franchise went from 48 wins to 49 and then 56 last season as they advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. Having DeRozan back as a cornerstone player will allow them to continue pursuing those top spots in the conference.
