The Golden State Warriors got back on track on Wednesday by defeating Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, 120-113, at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., but there is still plenty of work to be done for the Dubs.
Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green acknowledges one area the Warriors can improve, as emphasized to him by head coach Steve Kerr.
“We’re not the same team we used to be,” Green told reporters about the message he got from Kerr about the Warriors’ turnovers, via Anthony Slater of ESPN.
“The league has changed. Teams feast on those turnovers.”
Green apparently listened to what Kerr said, as he only had a turnover in the Bucks game. He is turning the ball over 2.8 times per outing in the 2025-26 NBA regular season, but the do-it-all forward has been more careful with the leather of late, with only a turnover in three of his last four games.
As a team, Golden State coughed up the possession just 10 times against the Bucks, who turned those turnovers into 8 points.
While not a high-usage player, Green always gets plenty of touches as one of the chief facilitators of Golden State’s offense.
On the season, the 35-year-old Green is leading the Warriors with 5.4 assists per game.
