Joel Embiid reacts to Ben Simmons trade with savage meme

The Ben Simmons era in Philadelphia finally came to an end on Thursday, and Joel Embiid wasted no time expressing his excitement.

The 76ers traded Simmons to the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden in a blockbuster deal. Shortly after the news surfaced, Embiid shared a savage meme on Twitter.

For those who don’t understand the reference, that was Embiid’s way of saying he stopped by one of his biggest hater’s funerals just to make sure the person was actually dead. In other words, good riddance.

Simmons and Embiid have had issues for a long time. Their differences appeared to reach a boiling point when Embiid threw Simmons under the bus following the playoffs last year. When Simmons decided he was going to hold out and never play for the 76ers again, Embiid made it clear he no longer supported his teammate.

Embiid and his teammates are likely relieved that Simmons is finally gone. The fact that they got a star player in return for the former No. 1 overall pick is a huge bonus.
