Kawhi Leonard has always come across as a methodical man, and his free agency process seems to be reflecting that.
Leonard has reportedly met with the three teams he is considering joining: the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers and Toronto Raptors. His final meeting is believed to have taken place with the Raptors on Wednesday.
The Athletic’s Jabari Young, a Spurs reporter, said on Twitter Wednesday that a decision from Kawhi was not coming that night and it might not come for a few days. Young also said no two-year deals are being discussed.
On the Kawhi front, told he’s not making a decision tonight and it may not be until the next few days. He and his reps are going through the process and taking their time before deciding the next move. No 2-year deals have been discussed. #NBA @TheAthleticNBA

The two-year deal item came up because ESPN’s Jalen Rose said he was hearing 99 percent that Kawhi would return to Toronto and that it would be on a two-year deal. That rumor may be chatter coming from around the league with other players whose free agency is tied to Leonard (teams with salary cap space are waiting to hear from Leonard before signing other players).
Cris Carter, who is believed to have ties to Leonard’s camp, and Young, have both said that it may take some time before a decision is made and announced.
