Kevin Durant reportedly aims to own NBA team once he retires

Kevin Durant

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant reportedly has big ambitions once his NBA career is over.

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Durant wants to own an NBA team once he retires, an ambition that has own grown since he joined the Warriors a year and a half ago. He and business partner Rich Kleiman have spent significant time talking to owners and forging connections with major tech CEOs to learn as much as they can about the process and position themselves to forge strong relationships while he’s still playing.

“This is a genuine goal of his after he retires, to add another African-American in the position of majority ownership,” one source said.

One of Durant’s primary on-court rivals also has dreams of owning a team once his playing days are finished. It seems to be a growing ambition among some players, who are aiming high and giving a lot of thought to going for it.
