Kyle Lowry dismisses talk of perceived LeBron James diss
Better put on your sunglasses, because there’s no shade coming from Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry.
After Toronto’s Game 7 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday, Lowry was asked about the upcoming Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James, to which he replied that James is “one of the best players in the league besides Steph.”

Many saw Lowry’s comments as a slight to King James, but on Tuesday, Lowry did his best to insist that wasn’t the case, per Mike Mazzeo of ESPN.

Comparing James to Curry appears to be a touchy subject these days, especially for the parties directly involved. With the Raptors already heavy underdogs in that looming playoff matchup against the Cavs, it’s probably best to not give James any bulletin board material, no matter the intent, and Lowry knows that.
