Luka Doncic spurned the media after Wednesday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets, but he says that there was a legitimate reason for it.
The Dallas Mavericks star said on Thursday that he did not address reporters postgame because he was getting treatment for some minor injuries.
“I had some problems with my toe and knee, so I had to take care of it,” said Doncic, per Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. The 20-year-old also added that he was doing fine now.
Doncic had a frustrating end to the 107-106 nailbiter. He went scoreless in the fourth quarter and got swarmed on the final possession of the game, leading to the Mavericks being unable to get a shot off.
The Slovenian phenom has done this before in recent months, and it probably speaks to his competitiveness or to his youth, depending on your perspective.
