Report: NBA coaches want to revoke credentials of reporters who interview LaVar Ball
The fallout from LaVar Ball’s most recent comments criticizing Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton continues.
Sam Amico of Amico Hoops reported on Sunday that several NBA coaches are seeking the revocation of media credentials for reporters who interview Ball.
Several NBA coaches plan to ask media relations staffs to revoke credentials of basketball writers who interview LaVar Ball, league sources tell AmicoHoops. Ball was critical of Lakers coach Luke Walton in comments made to ESPN.

This development comes in the wake of the Ball family patriarch slamming Walton in an interview over the weekend and saying that the second-year coach had lost control of the Lakers. You can read Ball’s full remarks here.
The backlash to Ball’s inflammatory statements was swift and forceful — one well-respected head coach already blasted ESPN for publishing the story. Nevertheless, going down the slippery slope of what is essentially censorship may prove problematic for the NBA, no matter what your opinion of LaVar is.
