Sam Hinkie emerges on Twitter, says he’s now a professor at Stanford
Former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie has officially surfaced from his cocoon as a 140-character superstar.
Hinkie is now the proud owner of an active Twitter account, firing off his first series of tweets on Wednesday morning. In them, he revealed that he’s currently taking a sabbatical with his family in Palo Alto, California and will begin teaching classes at Stanford University. Hinkie also said that he plans to stay close to the sport of basketball, while also cultivating his apparent passion for snowboarding.

The 38-year-old has largely kept a low profile since he resigned from the Sixers front office last April. But there’s just something wholly heartwarming about the image of Hinkie sipping lattes at Starbucks, teaching courses on risk management and portfolio assessment (presumably) at a prestigious university, and yelling to the heavens “Trust the Process!” as he attempts to steady himself on his snowboard.
Here’s hoping this next generation of Hinkie apostles, both at Stanford and at the local snowboarding slope, grows as fond of him as the last one came to.
