Report: Spurs the favorites for Kevin Martin if buyout with Wolves is reached
The San Antonio Spurs roster is already deeper than the Mariana Trench, but apparently that’s still not good enough for them.
According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN on Saturday, the Minnesota Timberwolves are continuing buyout negotiations with veteran guard Kevin Martin, with the San Antonio Spurs emerging as the favorites to land Martin if an agreement is indeed reached.
ESPN sources say buyout talks continue for Minnesota's Kevin Martin, with San Antonio emerging as the favorite to land him if deal is struck

Martin, 33, is averaging 10.6 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game in 21.4 minutes per game in 2015-16 and no longer has any business on a young, rebuilding team like the Timberwolves.
A high-volume scorer like Martin doesn’t exactly seem like the archetypal Spur. But fortunately, they have already been successful this season in getting another ball-stopping offensive behemoth in LaMarcus Aldridge to effectively integrate into their ecosystem.
For what it’s worth, Martin has only made the playoffs twice in his 12-year NBA career. With Manu Ginobili still on the shelf thanks to a groin injury, Martin would be more than just a postseason ride-along for the Spurs.
