Video shows Kyrie Irving giving wad of cash to homeless fan in Houston

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving was apparently still in the mood to give gifts two days after Christmas, and one fan who approached him in Houston was in the right place at the right time.

Before his Boston Celtics took on the Houston Rockets on Thursday night, Irving took some time to chat with fans on his way to the team bus. When one fan told him he had fallen on hard times and was homeless, Irving reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of money. A fan named Thomas Moreno shared his video of the exchange with TMZ and said Irving gave the man $240.

The recipient was obviously thrilled, and he was shown sprinting up to Irving to thank him before jumping for joy in the streets.

Irving isn’t the first NBA player we have seen who made the day of a homeless person by giving him some cash, but the act never gets old. The Celtics ended up losing to the Rockets 127-113, but the trip was hardly a waste of time for Irving.
