Cars involved in a wreck

Sunday’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama featured the biggest wreck in NASCAR Cup Series history in terms of cars involved.

NBC said Sunday that 28 cars were involved in the wreck. Things started when Brad Keselowski nudged Austin Cindric on lap 184, causing the No. 2 car to spin. Cindric was spinning right in the middle of the track and claimed nearly the rest of the field.

The drivers who got caught in the wreck included: Cindric, Josh Berry, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Noah Gragson, AJ Allmendinger, Chase Briscoe, Shane Van Gisbergen, Chris Buescher, Martin Truex Jr., Christopher Bell, Harrison Burton, Joey Logano, Bubba Wallace, Daniel Hemric, Michael McDowell, Todd Gilliland, Ryan Preece, John Hunter Nemechek, Erik Jones, Tyler Reddick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Alex Bowman, Corey LaJoie, Anthony Alfredo, Zane Smith and Daniel Suarez.

Cindric, Logano, Burton, Preece, Berry, McDowell and Hemric were unable to continue and completed just 183 laps.

The race was able to restart, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won in a photo finish, finishing just ahead of Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford.

Though he took a lot of heat for causing the wreck, Keselowski said that Joey Logano was on his bumper, which caused him to nudge Cindric in a domino effect.
