Roger Clemens’ son Kody has great quote about his clutch hitting
Kody Clemens had a great quote on Saturday night about his clutch hitting for Texas’ baseball team this season.
Clemens helped his Longhorns beat the rival Texas A&M Aggies 8-3 in the Austin Regional of the NCAA baseball tournament Saturday night. The junior second baseman went 3-for-5 with four RBIs on two home runs, giving him a team-best 21 dingers for the season.
Clemens has been especially hot lately, as he has three multi-homer games in Texas’ last 11 games. In a key win on May 18 over TCU, he hit a pair of 2-run home runs — one that tied the game at three, and a walk-off to win it 5-3. He’s now up to 67 RBIs in 59 games.
So what’s the deal with his great hitting especially in key moments? He says it’s in the blood.
Kody Clemens on if his dad ever talked to him growing up about handling big games.“Not really. I guess it’s in the blood, if you want to say so.” #HookEm #RoadToOmaha

He certainly comes from a great pedigree, as his father Roger won a national championship at Texas and is one of the best pitchers in MLB history. Maybe there is something in the DNA.
