The 6’10” big man LBS dubbed the “Jewish Dwight Howard” has found a collegiate home. Aaron Liberman of Valley Village, Ca., is joining the Northwestern basketball program as a preferred walk-on, coach Bill Carmody announced on Wednesday.
Liberman, who spent last year playing and studying in Israel, has been added to Northwestern’s roster.
“Aaron has made excellent strides to develop his body and to hone his skills on the court,” NU coach Bill Carmody said in a statement, per the Chicago Tribune. “He will be a great addition to our revamped front-court.”
Liberman is a forward-center who weighs 215 pounds. He led Valley Torah to the Southern Section Div. VI-AA title in 2011 by averaging 17.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 8.7 blocks per game. Below is the youngster’s highlight tape:
The Jewish Journal wrote an excellent feature on Liberman last year in case you’re interested in reading more on the young man.
