Texas quarterback Arch Manning named the interesting NFL signal-caller he views as a role model, and it is not one of his famous uncles.

As part of a new NIL deal with sports apparel brand Vuori, Manning was asked about his sports role models. The Texas quarterback picked out Buffalo’s Josh Allen as one of his current favorites.

“I really like to watch Josh Allen,” Manning said. “He’s one of my biggest role models. I love the way he plays. I like the way he carries himself.”

One can definitely see some of Allen in how Manning plays. The Texas quarterback can certainly break off a big run every once in a while. Allen is slightly bigger than Manning, but at 6’4″ and 222 lbs., Manning does fit the archetype of the large, athletic mobile quarterback that Allen models.

Manning will finally get a chance to show what he can do in college this year, as he has been handed the starting job already. NFL teams will be watching closely. Allen is a dominant force, and many teams would love the chance to get their hands on a quarterback with similar traits. They might have to wait a while for Manning, however.

Manning got some limited looks for Texas last season when Quinn Ewers dealt with an injury. He threw for 939 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions, and ran for 108 yards and four more scores.
