Report: Art Briles, Baylor talking settlement after reinstatement movement fails

Art Briles will not be returning to Baylor after all and he is discussing settlement terms with the school, according to a report.

According to Chip Brown of Scout.com, a donor-fueled push to let Briles off with a yearlong suspension failed, and Briles and Baylor are now trying to reach a settlement.

Briles has about $40 million owed to him over the last eight years of his deal, and a source said that the two sides would likely meet in the middle around $20 million.

Some boosters had been pushing for Briles to be reinstated after a one year suspension. Getting rid of him is the right move. The findings of Baylor’s sexual assault investigation determined that he was, at best, complicit in not reporting allegations. He had to go, even if Baylor has to pay him off to make it happen.
