Bill Belichick has found himself in the news recently for some unexpected reasons, and the legendary coach might be looking for some help in that department.

Belichick has had conversations with at least one public relations specialist in recent months, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Sunday. One PR expert that Belichick has spoken with is former Chicago Bears vice president of communications Brandon Faber.

While Belichick has not formally hired anyone, one goal would be to boost the tour for his upcoming book “The Art of Winning,” which will be published on Tuesday. There are other matters unrelated to North Carolina football that Belichick appears to need help navigating as well.

An interview that Belichick conducted with “CBS Sunday Morning” last week has turned into something of a disaster for the 73-year-old coach. One particular clip from the interview showed Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson interrupting when Belichick was asked a question Hudson did not appreciate.

The CBS narrator said Hudson was a “constant presence” during the interview. There were reports that Hudson interjected multiple times, which led to Belichick issuing a statement about the segment.

One recent report claimed North Carolina is concerned about Belichick’s relationship with Hudson, as she appears to be operating as his manager in addition to his girlfriend.

At the very least, it seems like Belichick could use some help with the narrative surrounding his relationship with Hudson. For someone who has always demanded full control over football matters and his coaching career, Belichick seems to be allowing Hudson to pull a lot of strings. That has led to criticism for the six-time Super Bowl champion.

CBS even felt the need to fire back after Belichick issued a statement about his interview with the network. That is just one example of how the coach’s PR situation has become messy in recent weeks, which is likely one reason he is exploring a new hire.
