North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick is back in top form in at least one sense.
Belichick delivered a classically brief sideline interview during Saturday’s game against Clemson at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Interviewed at the start of the second quarter with his team up 14-3, Belichick did not give ESPN’s Stormy Buonantony much to work with.
“Too many, yeah. Too many,” Belichick said when asked about his team’s penalties. When asked if he felt there was anything his team needed to clean up, Belichick shook his head and said they “just need to execute better.”

Belichick, of course, is known for keeping it brief in a lot of his media interactions. It had been a while, however, since we saw a sideline chat as vintage as this one.
Part of the reason for this may be that for the first time in his tenure, North Carolina is actually performing reasonably well on the field. The Tar Heels entered Saturday’s game 2-0, and they were by far the better team against the Tigers during the first half on the road.
